There came a dancer from the far Far-East
...to dance the dance with the best and the least
She danced her spell from land to sea
...and stole men's hearts and captured me.
How this wisp of a cloud could float so free
... and give such joy... how could it be?
A thousand men danced to win her hand
... to be the best in all the land.
That lovely face of the setting sun
If only I could be the one
... to earn her favor and her love
... would be a gift sent from heaven above.
Alas I fear she does not see such as I am
... hidden in a forest... a silent tree
I would dance with her with all my heart
... but I know not how to even start
I pray a time will come one day
... when she will chance to past my way.
I'll bow and take her lovely hand.
We'll move as one to a Latin band.
... and if the music dies away
...you may rest assured I'll cherish the day.
But if good fortune should have a say
... she'll unlock her heart and she will stay.
